This is a gorgeous experience that oozes creativity and joy around every turn. They once again reinvented what a 3D platformer can be. Nintendo simply did not copy and paste the success of Super Mario 64(1996). The Mushroom Kingdom is all about major innovation and taking risks.

That complex, weird as hell plot, is why a lot of people do not really enjoy this game because it does not feel like Mario, but I argue this is what the franchise is all about. It is up to Mario to save the island and get to the bottom of what is happening before it is too late. Because of this, Mario is quickly arrested, put on trail, and forced to clean up the island with the help of his new F.L.U.D.D. However, they have to make an emergency landing as they discover that someone has been committing environmental crimes disguised as Mario. This entry follows Mario and crew as they go on vacation to the topical Isle Delfino. Super Mario Sunshine(2002), developed by Nintendo, to many people is the ugly duck in this iconic game franchise, but to me from its amazing level design to its brilliant sense of momentum, this is my favorite game of all time.
